How did I start blogging?

Hi, welcome!

I’m Kallmann Choong, the founder of a registered trademark “Medical Essentials”. It is an educational, engaging, and fun-to-read medical blog that helps you to learn something new about health & science every day. I started this blog on the 24th of August 2016 with the intention to share the knowledge that I’ve acquired throughout six years of medical school, not knowing exactly where this was heading towards. I wasn’t even fond of writing to begin with, much less being good at it. All I knew was I wanted to do something, something that makes a difference someone’s life, albeit a minuscule one.

It wasn’t until an incidental opportunity came knocking the door, I was asked to ghost-write articles on the realm where my strength lies. I took the opportunity and successfully completed the project within the given time frame. Since then, I started developing interest in researching, writing, editing, and proofreading. Basically, creating contents and putting something out there I know would benefit someone.

The content of Medical Essentials comprises a mixture of both technical and conversational tone to target a wide spectrum of readers from the general population to healthcare providers. So there’s always something interesting that compels you to read no matter which age group you fall under. Reading gives you some place to go when you have to stay where you are. I hope you will travel to different world through opening the door of Medical Essentials.

I strongly adhere to the belief that we as human have responsibilities to deepen understanding towards our own species and the intricacies that lie within. It is the fuel we feed our mind that triggers innovative thinking and technology advancement.

Now isn’t that the essentials of life?
